Sound the Trumpet!

"Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Our Musicians

We are church musicians who play for the joy of giving glory to God. We play hymns and classical pieces as well as contemporary Christian music. Our major performances are at Christmas and Easter. We also play approximately quarterly during morning worship services.

Easter Sunrise Service

Rev. Milton Rodgers leads the choir and congregation in song as Gary and Craig provide trumpet duet accompaniment at the Easter 2012 Sunrise Service. Probably no other service so captures the reason why our music is filled with joy and hope as we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior.

Talent Show 2013

Brass Ensemble leader Allan Anderson playing "Lift Up The Lord" with Rev. Milton Rodgers accompaniment on piano at the JAN 2013 Grace UMC Talent Show. Each year Grace UMC musicians of all ages are encouraged to share their talents at a festive evening of food, fellowship, and music.

Brass Ensemble Rehearsal

Gary leads a November 2012 rehearsal in preparation for Christmas music. Rehearsals are held weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the choir room. Members can log into our web site to download music and midi-generated mp3 audio practice music.

The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever. Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God. (2 Chron. 5:13-14)

Rehearsals

We hold our rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30 pm in the Grace UMC choir room. Members should arrive NLT 7:15pm to set up, warm up and be ready to start at 7:30 pm. Interested in playing with our brass ensemble? Contact Us to set up a time to meet with you for an audition.

Performances

We perform a variety of hymns, classical pieces, as well as some more contemporary, upbeat songs. Our major performances occur during the Christmas and Easter holidays. Additional performances occur approximately quarterly throughout the year as part of morning worship services.
